MEET DR. CHRISTINE C. EKENGA

Christine C. Ekenga, PhD, MPH works to promote healthy and sustainable environments for all at home, at work, and in community. Dr. Ekenga is a Rollins Assistant Professor of Environmental Health at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Her research primarily focuses on investigating the contributions of environmental and occupational factors to human health and well-being, as well as the prevention and control of chronic diseases.

RESEARCH

Dr. Ekenga and her research team utilize multiple methods and community-engaged approaches to better understand complex public health challenges. Their research topics include the Environmental and Occupational Epidemiology of Chronic Diseases, Disaster Epidemiology and Public Health Preparedness, and Community-Engaged Health Promotion.

The Ekenga Research Group values diversity and encourages the inclusion of historically underrepresented groups in the biomedical sciences. They are currently recruiting new team members and invite undergraduate and graduate students to apply.
